3 JAPANESE MEIJI SHIBUICHI & STERLING MENUKI OBIDOME FIGURAL BROOCH PIN. Up for sale is a stunning vintage brooch incorporating an antique scenic panel made in Japan in the late Meiji period. I believe the front panel is perhaps a obidome piece made from schibuichi and converted into a brooch/pendant sometimes in the first half of the 20th century. It is a large 3" long x 2" wide and is exquisitely handcrafted from shibuichi (copper/silver alloy) mounted on sterling silver.

It is in very good condition and is marked "Sterling". It has a "c" scroll closure and a small bale so it can be worn as a pendant. It weighs 34.8 grams. Please note that my camera is cobalt blue and often makes polished surfaces look dark due to the reflection on the metal surface.
