CIRCA 1900 JAPANESE MIXED METALS SPICE / INCENSE BOX. Premier example of traditional Asian metal artistry in miniature.

Rectangular form seamlessly cast of bronze with rounded corners and domed top having applied copper and gold cluster of fruit and small bird in flight. Front, sides and rear wall beautifully decorated in high relief with chased silver buddha hand citron on leafy branches, ikebana basket, fruit cluster, and large peony against acid resist cloudwork.
