Genryusai Seiya. Bronze Bull Sculpture. Meiji Era (1868-1912). Rare/Antique

  
This item is in excellent condition! There are no dings, scratches or visible defects. The item has been stored in storage for years and was recently "rediscovered"! This item was recovered from an estate in Pennsylvania recently.

No other historical details of where, how it was acquired are known about it. Genryusai Seiya was the master craftsman in charge of a workshop which specialized in export wares of the highest quality. Production included human genre figures, vases and exotic bronze models of animals probably influenced by the opening of Tokyo Zoological Gardens in 1882. Made for the export market, late 19th century (middle Meiji period).
