Up for your consideration is a very fine original Meiji-era bronze sculpture of a mythological beast. The piece is meticulously cast with hand-incised details throughout.

It is signed in Asian characters on the underside. The piece has a removable lid on its back, so it could have been used for incense. The piece measures 20" tall, 11" wide, and 7 deep. It weighs about 18 lbs. Overall, the piece is in excellent condition, with a rich patina throughout. There are no dents, dings, or restorations.
